A multi-talented man gone too soon.
I miss him. Liked his style and personality. He was a good guy. Pity he went way too early. Still having a hard time watching Bruce Springsteen paying tribute to him a couple of days after his death by opening with Purple Rain at a concert.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/s5sim5B15gQWhen I was in my late 20's and 30's I was more selective. I dated my son's Barber in my late 20's, and be real, how much money can a guy make getting a $1.00 tip on a $6.00 haircut. I did break up with him because he made me feel insecure.
He got married to someone 3 months after I broke it off with him.
I know he's a legend but the only songs i liked was When Doves Cry, Kiss, Controversy, and Black Sweat
Good songs.
Don't forget Purple Rain and Little Red Corvette.
Yea i didn't like those. I didn't like the majority of his songs. Only the 4 above
@DizzyDesii. Raspberry Berea? Little Red Corvette?
Purple Rain?
@Mansearching nope. didn't like those
Most popular songs ever
@Mansearching i think the ones i mentioned are more popular then the raspberry one
I never heard of Controversy or Black Sweat.
Kiss and When Doves Cry yes i have
@Mansearching Popular songs are not necessarily the best in someone's eyes and ears - it just means they're the most well-known. I think songs like "The Ballad of Dorothy Parker", "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man", "Musicology", "New Power Generation Pts 1 & 2", "Melody Cool" are some of his best. And if you don't get up and dance to "Baby, I'm A Star", you're probably dead.
I certainly do. I didn't like everything he or every road he went down, but I sure loved a lot of it. He was a musical genius and a great musician, difficult to work with being a perfectionist, and quite volatile at times. Nonetheless, he created some of the best music I've ever heard.

I never thought the music he wrote was that great, but he was possibly the world's most underrated guitarist
https://youtu.be/dWRCooFKk3c?feature=sharedI never really had a deep connection with his songs. But it was very sad to see him go.
Somehow it's as if all the really brilliant people tend to "burn up" their existence faster. Very strange.
Yes I loved a lot of his songs including the many he wrote for other performers.
Nope. I never really got into his music until after he died. Wasn't he a little weird, changing his name to that non-descript symbol, known as "the artist formerly known as Prince"?
That was done to make a statement and protest the slave-like atmosphere and workings of the record label he'd been signed to, and the recording industry as a whole. It was to say " I'm not a person to them".
I miss all the greats... Prince was amazing... I was more of an MJ fan and Whitney personally.
โThe cold weather in Minneapolis keeps the bad people away"-Prince
Tbh I always thought he was overrated but yeah, gone too soon
Not really. I was never attached enough to actually miss him. When did he die anyway?
Yes. He was so talented across the board - composer, musician, singer, producer.
I miss both Prince and MJ. I always loved MJ as an artist despite all the accusations I cannot ignore what he did as an artist and performer.
Ehh I appreciate his talent and have a few songs. And the fact he wasnโt a pedo like MJ.
His music still lives with us
He was a great guitarist.
No, because I never knew him personally.
Very much, he was awesome.
When doves cry makes me tear up when I hear it.
Sure do
Prince who?
Purple Rain? The 80s rocker with many talents? Superb guitar player?
not really
