Yes and no. They are both running their own labels. And so no one else has any real say over their music.

But they are also subject to their fans. I am free to write anything I want here. It might get me banned, downvoted and so on but I certainly can do it. Just like they can do any music. They are technically free.

Realistically I won't write anything. Neither will they. They are free but will usually cater to their audience anyway.
