She's originally from my hometown; West Reading, PA. Has she remembered it once she moved to Nashville? Nope

She's originally from country music, then switched to pop. Has she remembered those country music fans that brought her fame? Nope

Has she crafted songs that remember the ones that slighted her? Yup

Has she remembered the ones that supported her, helped her up when she fell down, etc? Nope

I most definitely think she's Overrated; even this poll gives her more attention than she'll give it. Trust me, she won't care at all what you think of her until you're cash-flow stops heading her way.

Overrated, yes she inspires the youth (particularly girls to get registered to vote), yes she gives people more confidence, and yes she spreads good positive messages….

Her music sucks though, can’t listen or praise her since her whole talent isn’t good. Her personality & character is good so, I don’t pay mind to her knowing she is doing good in this world just hate it whenever her music gets on the radio and infests my ears.

i also think if you listen to if i was a man, you'll get an idea of the truth of what they have to go through... i watched shirley temple tell a story where her and her mother went made to go to separate rooms at a movie company and she was 13 and he was naked... her mother said, i won't even tell you what happended,,, she went from country to more pop and so many of her albums have been bought out by some rich twat, now that is unreal how despite her fame and apparent status in the industry, her rights have been sold off...

Taylor Swift is a pop star. Is she a legendary status? No, I don’t think so. Her songs are good, good melodies, good lyrics, but also simplistic to best appeal to the widest audience. I imagine quite a few people will remember her as generations go on but I’m not sure how long that will last.

I adore this opinion, which must come from someone who knows music.

Nothing she has done sets any records.

She's no Jimmy Hendrix, no Freddy Mercury, no Ella Fitzgerald, nothing that will last in the fabric of time. Her influence is about the same as a Britney Spears. Just one bad PR stunt from a has-been. Forgotten.

The worst of that? Karma. Built on the backs of those she trod on and forgot.

She collaborates (like a lot do) on 'her' music. She's actually just a part of the machine, not producing original content but hashing out tunes that were handed to her by actual musicians that are forced to think of her when they write her songs. I personally think thats a different kind of hell - writing songs that others make famous. What happened to the early days when people wrote, recorded, and performed their own music, like Beach Boys, most of Motown, Johnny Cash, John Denver, that kind of thing - true songwriters. That's why today's music doesn't have legends anymore.

To believe Taylor swift is not getting enough recognition is completely stupid. She has enough fans to overthrow the government, or run for president if she wanted to (I would bet you some of them would be crazy enough to do it). TBH her music is good, and I think she will be remembered but i personally believe she hasn’t made a record you could call the greatest of all time and highly influential.

she's a singer, musician, songwriter. I admire that in today's world. Take Beyonce: she's just a singer and dancer. Needs a team of writers the size of a NFL football team to do an album.

Swift is an artist and an entertainer. Beyonce, for example, is just an entertainer.
