Some people think she's Michael jackson but her streams are flopping on her recent album, and she struggles getting hits outside of few countries. She can't sing or dance, and is average looking. All she has is her songwriting basically.
- 13 d
I don't even know a single song of hers. I have some licks from her because I unintentionally am exposed to her gibberish at malls and all
I really attempted to have a look at her work and god awful
Soulless, mindless commercial gibberish that is designed to be marketed as wide an audience as possible.
Mike Portnoy was asked to compose drum parts to one of her songs, and just look at how a real musician spices it up by just jamming, and how stupidly flat the original drums are.
Why? Because they don't want melodies in Taylor Swift songs, no key changes, no real armonies.
Those require musical tastes, some may like it, some may not. Instead, just make a flat beat and a repetitive simple tone and 15 year olds will love it00 Reply

She is clearly an artist pushed by some big media company. I've never been to her concert or and the only song I like it "shake it". Some girls from my workplace went last year to her concert and they were not especially impressed. One even said it felt everything forced and Swift didn't enjoy her time on stage.
Personally I like electronic music or classic more, so I don't have any competent opinion about her style and music like her fans but I find she's just average, not really a star.10 Reply

Taylor Swift has undeniably made a significant impact on the music industry. Her songwriting is deeply personal and resonates with many. While her style might not appeal to everyone, she's received numerous awards, sold out tours, and has a dedicated fan base. Comparing her to Michael Jackson, who was known for his groundbreaking music and performances, might not be entirely fair given their different strengths. It's all subjective; everyone has their own taste in music! 🎶✨

I don’t get all the hype, but a lot of people apparently do. And she writes her own music, so credit where due.
I really only know a few of her big hits. Not really my thing, but I’m not repulsed either. Just neutral. And she strikes me as a pretty nice person, as celebrities go. I think she takes some political shrapnel, plus I think everyone’s probably just overexposed. A lot of people don’t like the Kansas City Chiefs and Travis Kelce too, so there’s also that.
But all the hatred of her seems unwarranted to me. Overrated? Music is very subjective, so who’s to say? There are a lot of people who I think are trash as musicians, and they fill huge arenas, so what do I know? Haha

@WhiteSteve I hear she is really demanding of her employees. Kind of like a spoiled brat.

@NoDecision could be, I’m not super tuned in, I’m an old chunk of coal, haha. I’ve seen and heard of her giving generous tips to employees of venues on her tour, and I guess she gave huge bonuses to the traveling tour team. So she spreads the money around, not that she doesn’t have it to spare.
I actually met the guy who was Bob Dylan’s tour manager for a tour probably about 25 years ago, at a bar I bounced and managed at. Wouldn’t have believed him but Bob was in fact in town for a show and he had a laminate on, wasn’t trying to get anything for free or anything, seemed legit.
So he and I get to talking because it was like a wicked slow Tuesday night or something. He starts telling me all these stories of tours he worked on and artists he interacted with.
He had some crazy ones, like one of the guys from AC/DC being mad about room service delivering an overcooked steak at a hotel, and he threw the entire cart through the window, down onto a thankfully unoccupied pool area below. I think he had to try to talk their way out of being both thrown out and charges being pressed, and he said the financial manager had to cut a sizable check to cover the damage and the trouble.
But I bring him up because he said the absolute worst person he ever dealt with was Madonna. I think he said he was the stage manager for that tour, which I assume is the person responsible for the stage setup. Anyway, I guess she one day demands that she wants like 150 white roses strewn about the stage or something crazy like that. So he has to fly all over Toronto in a few hours time trying to find florists who can get him that amount of white roses with no advance notice. - 13 d
@NoDecision So I guess he somehow makes it happen, show goes off without a hitch, then afterwards, he gets called to see Madonna. And she was like “how was the show tonight, David?” And dude is like “great show.” And she goes “NO, it was TERRIBLE.” And since I’m writing and not telling you, I’ll skip the long version, but the moral of the story is she fired him because she found a rose with a browned petal, lmfao🤦♂️ Left him in Toronto. I guess he picked up with Jethro Tull if I remember it right.
He had a few other horror stories too, so I think my bar is lower because I’ve heard of Madonna and others’ crazy bullshit, lmao.
Incidentally, he said Bob Dylan was super cool, and Alanis Morrisette was the nicest person he ever worked for, just to end on a positive note😝 - 13 d

403 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. I think she peaked last year. I thought that as it was happening. I have no ill will against her but it just seemed like a peak.
If she marries, that will be all the news for a month or two. And then a baby, more big news.
She will continue her career but much of her fan base is also growing up. Her songs seem similar and I am not seeing Lennon and McCartney type lyrics coming out of her as you could clearly see them evolve in their writing and their song types. But who knows, she could surprise us.

VERY overrated, but I've heard far worse. Same with her looks, five to six out of ten, but I've seen much uglier broads.(She's 5'11",124 lb., and unless she got implants, is pretty boobless).
She's a billionairess, of course, so she isn't worrying, and may wed Travis Kelce, her 15th white beau out of 15 boyfriends.(Guess, to paraphrase Nat "King" Cole, the great African American vocalist who briefly had a TV show, which tanked because products associated with white folk wouldn't advertise on his show,"Taylor Swift is afraid of the dark!!!")

I don’t listen to her music or most music.
what I k ow of her. She is very smart with her life decisions, financial decisions, relationships. She came from a good/healthy/supportive family. She is much better quality person compared to some big Hollywood people. I don’t think she cares how others think of her. I am proud of her accomplishments and success.
There will always be haters.02 Reply- 13 d

That’s a matter of opinion. I like taylor swift, I’m not a massive fan of her music but I do enjoy some of her songs. I’m not surprised an American artist isn’t doing well internationally considering the US’s current approach to international relations.
02 Reply- 15 d
Okay, then that’s the reason. Just because she’s not big internationally doesn’t mean she’s not a success or undeserving of the business and attention she receives.
3.9K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. When she toured here last year, she played in front of 90,000 plus people in football stadiums.
What is her appeal, I have no idea. However, she does have more talent than most other auto-tuned crud that is in the mainstream.
11 Reply699 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. I don't pay attention to her so idc. You can go on youtube and watch any MV you want why are you mad at Taylor Swift I don't get it? In the past when radio was more important it was more understandable to hate the one artist you didn't like that constantly got played. But now, I don't listen to any radio or watch tv so I have complete control over the songs I listen to. I don't see a reason to care.

i'll be honest. I think her last tour was the end of her contract with Satan. So expect her cult following to start to dwindle. her popularity, and annoying habit of being everywhere to slow down. so yes. I'd say she is overrated. but she's hot though

Do Americans really believe in this Satanism, kabal bullshit?
Because from Old World, you look really stupid - Opinion Owner13 d
@Darklydarkened sure do. and the more that comes out, the harder it will be to keep denying it. but you're welcome to your own opinions.

You know the worst thing, I'm from Turkey, and ever since Islamists got to power, they are importing these ridicilous evangelical christian bigot arguments to Turks too
Why would Taylor Swift sell her soul to Satan? Banks have more power than Satan, or God
Rid yourself from this nonsensical make believe and learn to see the world as it is, not as you are told to see - Opinion Owner13 d
@Darklydarkened well i don't think taylor swift uses satanic symbolism for fun. there must be a reason. *shrugs*
Honestly? I haven't paid attention to anything she's done since my kids were in elementary school... a WHILE ago...
00 Reply5.6K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. Yes, I actually sat down and listened to her to see what the fuss is all about. She is pleasant and she has some talent but not in the same class as Elvis or MJ.
00 Reply- 14 d
I think she is a little bit. And I think people do make too much of a big deal where this woman is concerned. She's certainly a money making machine.
03 Reply- 14 d
They definitely talk about her a lot. So yes she is famous here too.
- 15 d
I barely if ever register pop stars. I certainly hope she is not Michael Jackson because that didn't end well for anyone.
00 Reply Compared to what? Like Wagner, her music is better than it sounds. I don't choose to listen to it. But I respect her music.
02 Reply662 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. Most modern entertainers are over-rated. Not much talent. Just fans wanting to believe in something. Taylor Swift is everyhighschoolgirl.
00 Reply424 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. Michael Jackson and Taylor Swift are both extremely overrated
01 Reply- 13 d
Jackson at least, was iconic for how stylised, well thought of and technical his work was. His singing style, range, dancing and general entertainment value of it are unparalelled.
I still have the two disc history album which was not just good, but it also had all his rage and contempt towards media added in
He wasn't some god as media portrayed him though, which again, was caused by hype
It is impossible to become famous like MJ was though. Like I don't even know a Swift song. Back when we were kids, not knowing Michael Jackson, not hearing a single song of him was not an option
Open up a music channel, watch it for an hour and you'd find Black or White or Scream in the songlist in 2000's
