looks like my depression started, and i'm listening to this song in loop since 2 hours

Ya it's sad... With a slight glimmer of hope... Holding on for a better day...

When I'm down I like to listen to something upbeat... These are two of my fav and it is said the rhythm and beats in these songs are scientifically proven to raise our moods and make people happier

18 years ago, I lost the best friend I ever had to her insanely jealous boyfriend and I was SO depressed over it, I cried about it for practically a full year or better. I decided to put together a collection of songs (18 or 20, I guess) that she said she liked and added a few others I'm sure she would like and I listened to that entire CD on repeat for the entire time I was without her. After a few dozen times, I decided I should stop so, I'd tell myself that, after I the rest of the CD this one more time, I'd switch to something else. I got to the end of it and decided to listen to it just ONE more time!! I "one more timed" myself for at least another few weeks. I just couldn't stop listening to it!
Eventually, I switched to another CD of similar stuff but of a completely different era and format, that I put together for her and would play that a few times in a row `til I decided to go back to this CD.
These 3 songs showed up on the CD in this order in the middle of it.
By the way, I got her back (Christmas night) just under 2 years after I lost her and we've been best friends, ever since. About a year or two later, she divorced his skanky ass and tossed him in jail for molesting their kids any time he got them.

I have the original CD for this song (the No Angel album). The original is not as melancholy. This loop is the more melancholy part. It leaves out the positive parts.

Overall, the song is positive. It's not so much about her bad times, but about the positive influence the subject of the song has.

Her music does tend to be melancholy, but it's not rock bottom.

This song is supposed to be encouraging, but the beat and the way it is sung kind of brings you down. It is like you trod through life looking for something better, and never really finding it. You find things that give you a brief relief, but nothing that is lasting.
