From left to right, these are 15 and 16 year olds from Liverpool in 1957 ...
George Harrison
John Lennon
Paul McCartney

John was 17 and Paul and George were both 15 at the time.

I think it was early 1958, though, when this photo was taken.

Once they had George, who was a superior guitarist, Paul soon switched to playing bass.
