Me my wife and kids did it tonight. I can’t sing so I played a fiddle while we went up and down our street, knocking doors, singing, giving out cookies and spreading some Christmas cheer. People loved it. I guess, maybe it shouldn’t die out. I mean, otherwise Christmas is just another joyless holiday. It’s 365 more shopping days till more debt. What’s the point? Make it special. Doesn’t have to all be expensive presents

Church carol services are still popular and you'll get groups singing in town centres or going from pub to pub, but I think door to door home visits have died out.
