I usually find music that matches the emotions that I’m feeling. I allow myself to feel those emotions, process them, and express them. It’s cathartic to let those feelings out instead of bottling it all up inside. Once it all passes through me like a hurricane, I’m good. I can return to calm. But, before that, I use a non-harmful way to get it all out of my system.

If I'm distraught, I may listen to the saddest playlist I have, "Break Glass Only in Times of Emergency".
It may make me feel worse, honestly. But I lean that way, I guess.
If I'm angry, I will play my "Angry" playlist. It will get some of the anger out.
