What is your favorite rom com of all time?

I HATE rom coms.

If I was to pick one that is classified a rom com. It'd be Better off dead. But to be honest even though it's classified as a rom com. It's actually just a comedy. There really isn't a sappy b. s. unrealistic love story to it. I mean yeah, Layne (John Cusack) does get the girl at the end. But it was more about showing his former girlfriend what she foolishly passed on. And Layne was a better stronger person for it. So in the end everyone won.

I think John Hughes made the best "rom coms" because they don't takes the relationship aspect of the movie too seriously. They keep it light.

I liked (500) Days of Summer, till the final 10 minutes of it. Because that was the most realistic love story I've ever seen. From the break up, the games, to the toxicity of his former girlfriend. And towards the end he understood the role he plated in the getting dumped. It wasn't just him raging and he forgives her. And he moved on with his life after him getting closure. But then they destroyed everything they built in the final 10 minutes with him meeting another woman in the waiting room of a job interview. F*** that! Why does it always have to be a happy ending. Why can't it be a happy ending where he remains single! He was fine single!

St Elmo's Fire tops my list, Coach. For me just the name, conjures up good memories of college and after, and the places we used to go after class and on the week ends

We had "Howies" - On The Lake. Fireplace burning in the winter, food, "mom' serving in the kitchen, pool table. We were college age and later... best, warmest times of my life, Coach.
