Is there a reason not to?
yes my favorites are quite old, more than ten years already but the new stuff i hear either has:
a, gross words that turn me off or
b, misuse of art for agendas or
c, lack singing melody... think about rap and hip hop and similar.d, even jazz... that "switch improvise" was just to hide errors for people who needed to hide errors and could not do the skillful patterns. but real music has rules and patterns... that was the skill!

Depends on what you call old. That's subjective really. I listen to stuff from many different decades.
