Universal Music Group, which is a major music company, has decided to remove all of its music from TikTok. This means that songs from popular artists like Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, Nicki Minaj, The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Selena Gomez, Adele, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Post Malone, Rosalía, J Balvin, Ice Spice, Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, Karol G, ABBA, Harry Styles, Sam Smith, BTS, BLACKPINK, TWICE, Anitta, Conan Gray, and many others will no longer be available on the TikTok platform.

The reason behind this decision is that Universal Music Group and TikTok were not able to reach an agreement. It's unclear what the specific issues were, but as a result, Universal Music Group has chosen to remove their music from the platform.

This news has disappointed many TikTok users who enjoy listening to these artists' songs and creating content with their music. It's a big loss for the TikTok community.

To me that's a big chunk. When did Universal, Sony, and Warner start controlling it all? Why don't they just deconglomorate the music?
