I've had lots of peak experiences in my life, but I'll mention flying.
My dad was an airplane buff. He took me to air shows when I was a kid. I got to see WWI replicas being flown. I saw lots of WWII air shows. We went to airplane museums and even to hangars where WWI and WWII airplanes were being restored or modified. He knew lots of airplane people.
He belonged to a WWI aero historian club that met once a month in Hollywood and took me with him. I saw old movies like Wings and Hell's Angels and fantasized about dog fighting in a WWI airplane.
Building models was popular when I was a kid and I built lots of WWI and WWII airplanes.
Snoopy and the Red Baron were popular.
I learned a lot about airplanes and could identify most by sight.
When I was a teen, he took me to flying for the first time in one of his friend's airplanes - a Piper Tr-Pacer.

I loved it. We went quite a few times. I got to fly the plane, learned how to do "touch and goes" and even flew left seat.
So, I always liked airplanes and continued going to air shows, museums throughout my life. I even went to the Reno Air Races.
In my 30s and 40s, I knew people with airplanes and we would fly places for lunch.
I became friends with a guy who had a private jet. He flew me from Torrance to the Mojave airport in his Bonanza. He had a hot shot test pilot from Edwards AFB take me up in the jet and do some crazy shit. I even got to take the controls and roll it a few times clockwise and counter clockwise. It was fantastic!
This is the kind of jet:

Flying in that jet was a bucket list item that I was fortunate to experience.
For my 60th birthday, my wife bought me a ride on an open cockpit, bi-wing, Stearman.

The pilot did aerobatics for me. Finally, I got to experience the sensations of dog fighting in a WWI-style airplane.
So you flew out of Torrance huh? That airport is now named after a famous WWII pilot.
@ArrowheadSW. Really? Who?
I moved out of the area in 2000.
I few in that Tri-pacer out of Orange County Airport before it became John Wayne Intl.
@ArrowheadSW. Interesting. He must have been a local boy, eh?
Quit my job.
Best feeling in the world is leaving a job that has you worn down.

Miss Paris, thanks for this awesome reminder. There is stuff I ABSOLUTELY NEED TO DO THESE NEXT MONTHS. Something I wanted to do and finally did it, although small and stupid, it was being in a relationship on valentines day. I don't like the day, I still don't, but being single on that day is just a reminder you're single and if you're looking for somebody it's annoying. But that day I woke up to her next to me, and although we didn't do anything special that day, it felt good.
I went to Korea :) And I'm gonna go see AC DC live this summer which I've wanted to do for a long time. They're old now but I'm still excited to see them live once in my life :)
Having a normal conversation with an English speaker. 🤣 I don't know what it is about them, but anytime I try to talk to an English speaker, the conversation doesn't go well. I stutter too much, or I take long pauses to try and think of a way to put what I want to say into words. But today, I finally did it ! I had a normal conversation with someone in English. I didn't stutter and I didn't pause at all. I'm proud of myself, I can finally say I'm a bilingual latina.
Muy bien
Two things for 2024: Attended and completed a creative writing course and enrolled in my very first Yoga Teacher training course. Things that I had been waiting quite sometime to be able to do. Xx
Thank you!! xx
There are many things that I have always wanted to do. There was always a reason that I could not do them. My whole life has been controlled by circumstances that were not my choice. I do not see things ever changing
@exitseven You are a Master Here, dear. xx
Build a house on some land my parents use to farm. I have, now I own 10 arcs of land in the country and have a house I built, I did some of the work myself.
It is two of my siblings did it before me. Now there 80 races farm is 4 smaller hobby farms. I can see all their houses from mine, I can wave from a distance can't talk unless i go over. I get two reactions when I tell me this, 1 "that is awesome" and 2 " you live that close to your family?"
I really wanted to make it to China and I did it. Things didn’t turn out the way I wanted them to, but at least I made it to here.
