We still remember and listen to awesome bands like led zeppelin, pink floyd, queen, etc. but in 50 years will it be the same but with lady gaga and one direction?

considering rap has no real music, just boring lyrics and very repetitive too, i am surprised it is still not yet boring for people but it has "shrunk and will becime boring and lose customers who will want something new. for example the "top" rapper "only rapper competing" from the rap genre with high sales was Eminem, 1,780,000 copies, in 2000 with ‘The Marshall Mathers LP" far less than other genres's top. also since 2000 every other rap less! as people get bored. "added kids" listen a bit and move on. hip hop incliuded rap if it rhymes but if it does not rhyme it is even less skill.
