Ouch... this reminds me of riding in the back of a neighbour’s 1985 Hyundai Pony. He starts it up and I’m startled by the sound of his car stereo at full blast which he immediately turns down. The car was particularly noisy with no help from the stereo, and it got a lot worse when we drove through a road work area and a raised manhole cover clipped off part of the exhaust system.
At least with stereo systems like his, most of the sound stays inside the vehicle. Those who remove their back seat just to install massive subwoofers to shake the earth with some infernal racket that seems to be made just for that purpose, they’re just crazy.
He probably has bad hearing... from going to loud concerts, driving loud cars, and playing loud music.
If it is good music, not a problem. Nothing more stupid than people that pay 1000s for a big thumping car stereo and then play nothing but bass and drum machine music.

I don't like any music exceeding roughly 90 decibels and much less so if i have to yell in people's ears to hear me. That corresponds to obnoxious to me.
I drive through the city on my way home and often I see some nitwit with a big stereo in his car. The road actually vibrates.
He's probably just happy. I'm only dangerous when I'm listening to Slayer, and then only because it makes me drive faster.
If I can't enjoy the music in my car because his is too loud, it's obnoxious PERIOD
because wanted attention
He's deaf.
