Actually, it is horror movies, but "The Omen" trilogy was amazing.

It not only worked as a horror film, but apparently the authors had done some significant research and the film was rooted in the actual application of Christian theology. So it worked not only as horror but it was actually intellectually interesting, too.

Also, though, I want to give honorable mention to "The Exorcist," and the Darren McGavin fims, "The Night Stalker" and "The Night Strangler." The Karl Kolchack character was both interesting and, in its' way, humorous.

In fact, I became a huge fan of the television series that followed those two movies - "Kolchack: The Night Stalker." I am surprised to this day that it only lasted one season. Anyhow, like "The Omen" films, McGavin insisted that all the monsters in his series be based in actual human mythology and legend, which made it funny, spooky and interesting all at once.

Okay, so I cheated and mentioned more than one. The funny part being that while I like horror movies, I don't think of myself as a fan of the genre. Still, those movies and that show worked.

I hate horror movies in general, I think because when I was VERY young, during a time when I was being babysat The girl who was sitting brought round her boyfriend and they put on a video of Driller Killer, and I watched it from the staircase. To say I was traumatised by it would be an understatement

I want to say the original Halloween since I seen it like a million times. I like a nightmare on elm street too because Freddy is always hilarious. I was into Child's play until the 5th one, then it just got too stupid. Children of the corn always gave me the creeps because the devil is scary lol. One that wasn't actually all that scary but gave me the creeps was Grave encounters lol.

Honestly I don't really have one, but I just watched Perfect Blue recently and that was really fun. It is, however, quite violent and has dark moments throughout so do not watch it if you are not in the correct headspace. Definitely for adults only.
