It’s only memorable to me because of Quentin Tarantino mentioning it in a conversation about what is in the briefcase in “Pulp Fiction”. I’m not sure if i’ve ever seen “Citizen Kane” all the way through. I didn’t get into the early film classics for a similar reason that i never luv’d theater. The performances feel too forced to me. I understand it’s about the training, to project the performance to the cheap seats. I have always preferred what i call “natural performance”. I’m arguably missing out on some of the greatest films of all time because of it. “Ben Hur”, “Gone With the Wind”, “Citizen Kane”, “The Maltese Falcon”. If it weren’t for the colorization and brilliant makeup & costumes of “The Wizard of Oz”, i might never have known that classic!
