I just recently started watching some episodes of Seinfeld and it is so freaking funny!! I am 23 but feel old for saying this. But this is honestly one of the funniest shows I’ve ever watched
Well, I am a bit older than you, but humor is humor and "Seinfeld" is genuinely funny. If it helps, I did not watch it when it originally aired, but now I watch it and enjoy it more than most stuff I see on TV.
Though I will add this, I tend to like the middle to later episodes. Maybe it is just because I came to know the characters, but I enjoy the early episodes less. They are funny, but because the characters are not what they became, the early episodes are not quite as funny in my view.
By the same token, I watch re-runs of "Hogan's Heroes" and I love that. In many ways, as that show deals in stereotypes - Germans and the like - it is even more cutting edge. Yet it works without being offensive. So you might want to give that show a try.
Anyhow, no need to feel old. when something works - it works. In an age when humor is being increasingly circumscribed by "political correctness" and all the rest, when you find a gem, relax and enjoy it. A good laugh is always the best.

lol you’re not old. I’m 45, soon to be 46. I’m not old either according to a lot of veterans that I work w. But yes I agree w you Seinfeld is one of the best shows. One of my favorites episodes is where Kramer test drives a car. The sales rep tells him looks like we need gas it’s on E. I also like the episode where Kramer is trying to breakup w the is girl, he ends up making out w a mannequin in his car to prove to the lady he’s a someone else. I don’t want many of today’s shows. I’ve heard people say they’re not like they used to be. Shows like 3s Company, The Drew Cary show, I love Lucy, Full House, Silver Spoons, The Wonder Years, etc. I love Married w Children. Not sure if you’d like it but that was one of my favorite shows.

Trust me on this. "Curb Your Enthusiasm" is about the actual writer/creator of Seinfeld. (Larry David) You will love it. He's the star of the show.
Has a Japanese person ever given you a shit bow? No bow, is better than a shit bow.

Unfortunately it's one of the many shows I can't get into, but the clip with the ASSMAN license plate was funny.

I’ve never really seen it. I might of caught an episode here and there but I can’t even recall what happened.
I was actually just thinking of starting it cause my coworker was telling me how much she loved it11 Reply - 1 y
As for television there are so many wonderful shows & Seinfeld is one of them & it’s one of those shows that will always be remembered. Seinfeld aired from July 5, 1989 to May 14, 1998 & at that time my parents watched it & I didn’t get into until the early 2000’s. Seinfeld was a show basically about nothing & that is what made it so great.
MacGyver & Quantum Leap we’re my shows I’m talking about the original shows not the remake garbage.
Alf was awesome too. 24 Reply- 1 y
This person even used "super" old for watching an older sitcom or explaining how democracy was made. But they'll listen to AC/DC. Love Alf.
@diversethought If she used “super” old for Seinfeld I wonder what she would use for Gomer Pyle USMC or MASH or even shows in black & white. Do you know AC/DC is all because of a sewing machine?
- 1 y
Ok, maybe using the word ‘super’ was a bit much lol

I've hard that about AC/DC. The brothers didn't know what to call the band and forgot who looked down at the sewing machine electric label.

The sad thing for you is that it is even funnier than you can appreciate because you are not old enough to get many of the contemporary cultural references. But, good comedy is still good comedy.

For instance, "Vile weed!" about broccoli is priceless no matter what year it is because it's so true.11 Reply- 1 y
This scene at the end is particularly funny because it involved George playing the arcade video game "Frogger". Anyone like me who well-remembers "The Golden Age of Video Games" remembers "Frogger" well and how the game is played. In this scene, when George is trying to bring the "Frogger" video game console across the street, the overhead view is very much like the way "Frogger" was played.

I personally didn't find it funny, but it was fairly popular.
For that genre of tv show, f. r. i. e. n. d. s. was more my "cup of tea".
Also you not finding out about it until now makes you sound younger, not older, an older person would have likely known about it long before then.10 Reply - 1 y
just kuz you like funny from a different generation doesn't mean you are old. funny is funny! seinfeld is. but friends wasn't... people laughed when they heard laughing despite no joke.

I actually just saw that one last night!! So freaking funny!!

Ok so that was perfect timing then!

Perfect timing for sure. The more I watch the more I think George’s dad is my favorite character, omg he is so funny!
Why would you feel old? I didn't feel old watching "My favourite Martian," or "The Andy Griffith Show," but I watched both as reruns as a kid and really enjoyed them.
Seinfeld was a great show. It's genuinely funny, at least to me.

Then I got into watching it about 2 years after their finale. I've seen every episode at least 3-4 times. You may enjoy Cheers as well. I place those two at first Cheers second Seinfeld.

Nothing wrong with that, that show was made in the golden age of TV before wokeness ruined everything.

there's so many timeless classics, I don't know anyone thinks old and young people can't relate outside of being stuck in their ways
10 Reply Super old? The show dates from the 1990's. If you remember the 1990's you're not necessarily "old"!
00 ReplyActually, if you are too young to remember "Seinfeld" you should feel young.

Why would that make you feel old? Sounds like you’re saying only old people would watch that show. Anyways, it’s not like it’s something outlandish to like something from a different time period? What’s the big deal?
