Video games, physical copy or digital?

I recently got into playing Xbox and I love it. I did some research to and learned that people can take away the rights to digital games. I went out and got an Xbox series X because of this and I've been on Amazon I am now the proud owner of Grand Theft Auto V Grand Theft Auto The Definitive Edition and then Elden ring Elden ring is actually coming today. 𓁹‿𓁹 I will no longer be maidenless. My social life is going bye-bye for a few days.

Physical, natch- but even that's not always enough. Many modern games aren't complete, and require connection to a server to download more- and I'm not talking patches, but bits of code necessary to function at all. And any game requiring a connection to a central server is on Death Row the moment it's released; as soon as the company stops supporting it, that's it- game's over. Ross Scott's taking that on, but who knows how it'll turn out.

Know the limits (and the end-of-life plan!) of any game you buy. And keep backups of every installer.

I tend to just stream stuff, I’m on PC and use Xbox game pass and steam n a few others

with high speed internet it takes no time to download something, also I have a lot of storage which is all fast storage,

check out Xbox gaming, it’s a monthly fee.

Well unfortunately on Xbox I had to pay for Game Pass core just to play online

Yep, digital copies may get lost as rights are not renewed unlike physical copies, but even physical games may have this issue, as they require online connection and patches or additional data to be downloaded which may not be possible sometimes in the future.

The same way shows disappear from Netflix and co.
