How do you decide between Physical and Digital Games?

How do you decide between Physical and Digital? What if both are on sale, one is cheaper. Or you have money in your Console account wallet. Or you have most of the whole franchise digitally or physically

Physical. Digital changes come fast for different reasons.

It is more fun sitting with friends at the table. It is more socializing. I prefer having anything in my hands when I spend money. Same with music. I prefer vinyl and cd streaming. I bought Munchkin and Beat Saber digital but never played it. I should have bought Munchkin as card game.

That is really a problem. When you are old then you need a real social network. And it is good against dementia. Try to work on real friends is my advice.

But I am not a gamer. I played PC games, those times were nice but are past for me.

I feel like you're only hurting yourself going physical as opposed to a key and a download link in your email. And if something does get messed up there's a paper trail to protect you.

No scratched disc's, no lost cases, no clutter in the house. And you can uninstall and reinstall easier too.

Most games make you install pretty much the whole thing anyway so it's kinda like what's the point?

Physical. It's cooler to get something to look at, it has monetary value, and most importantly, it's yours for as long as you want it. There's no message "the licensing agreement has been terminated and you will no longer be able to access your purchase, gee-golly sorry - sincerely, your favorite soulless corporation".

Digital - It's easier to access and often cheaper. Though tbh I never really look at physical and compare since when I get a game I always get it when it's dirt cheap after sometime so I don't really think much more about it with how cheap it is.

I use to have physical games like around 2007 through 2014. It was mostly PS3 games but my brother would borrow games and sell them. I ended up buying most of them digitally if they were cheaper. It definitely saves up space as I probably have 100 PS4/PS5 games give or take now.

i choose digital. cause most games are live service these days. so even if i have the game disc, if the developer decides to kill the game i can't play either way so either way i pay to own nothing. it is what it is.
