How much time do you have to discuss the subject.
I don't think that a few minutes conversation over a cup of coffee will suffice.
Being in pursuit of oneself and being in pursuit of adventure are two totally different things.
Pursuit of oneself is paramount, while still not harming those in our spheres of influence. Losing someone as a result of being oneself is necessary, to my way of thinking.
Pursuit of adventure, still being careful to not harm others in so doing, can result in the loss of others in our lives whose loss must be weighed against that which we may or may not gain from having embarked on an adventure.
That's my "meet for a coffee" thoughts on the subject.
I see your POV. It would be a coffee talk for sure. I feel in the pursuit of knowing you, we are also in an adventure as well.
Well, i mean, knowing me/yourself. That came across flirty.
Not really, but I've always surrounded myself with people who share my sense of adventure.
Not really, isn't I haven't, so you've never rubbed people the wrong way? Mom, dad, siblings? Friends? You just haven't met someone with a wild sense of adventure. In the movie, the guy she was with thought just like you...
And she drove him mad and called her a bunch of names
Have I rubbed people up the wrong way? Yes, of course. When you think about it, the people who are closest to us know what buttons to push when they want to, and vice versa, just I can't recall a time when I've done so in the pursuit of adventure.
I haven't seen the movie, but I'm not one to turn down a parachute jump for example.
The writer literally took that same, flawless persona, like everyone loves adventure with me, and put it to the test. After much furious jumping, he grew into a crazy person when she would explore. I mean, she started with the brain of an infant afterall
You should probably watch the movie
Maybe I will. I just have to ask one question. In the film, was the guy lying to himself about wanting adventure, or did he truly believe he was adventurous?
He was the carest free guy anyone ever knew. Even took her away when she was to be married. They had a great time at first.
And the he became a lunatic, couldn't even look at her as she was a "whorish cunt" "succubus" evil incarnate
You'd have to watch the movie champ...
I get it wouldn't have been good for the movie, but why didn't he just walk away?
I think I can already answer that question myself though. He became besotted with her and he wanted to control her. Correct? If so, I remember a Steve Martin film years ago called The Man With 2 brains. That sounds like a similar storyline. I still don't get why men (and women too) get SO attached to partners who are bad for them though. I never have!
Tommy, this movie is slightly similar but not. Watch it, come back.
Yes boss lol
I have never worried about what other people think of me, nor have ever worried about not moving on because of friends or family. This is why I have moved all around the world.
It's fascinating how films can spark deep reflections about our own lives. I totally get where you're coming from; movies like "Poor Things" can really make you think about your journey. I have definitely lost people along the way in my pursuit of who I am and my constant thirst for adventure. 🎨
There was a time when I changed plans so abruptly, chasing new art exhibitions or film festivals, and it threw my friends off. Some couldn't keep up with my ever-changing passions, and we drifted apart. At first, it stung, but I realized it was part of my growth. Those experiences shaped me, making me appreciate the people who truly understood and supported my journey. 💫
So while losing people can be tough, it's often part of finding your true self and building a life that reflects your passions.

I used to have a lot of friends. One by one I have left them behind because I wanted to stop being an immature asshole and I wanted to grow up.
Yes. I've unfortunately lost my best friend because of this. Nevermind, it's really hard to find true friends today as well.
This doesn't even make sense man. How the fuck am I going to lose a friend just because I go on a trip somewhere or some shit? The hell?
No, but I've cut off people who are bad to me or people who keep asking for my help when they refuse to take responsibility for themselves
The opposite, people began liking me more.
not once, no...
I got lost in the woods this one time, though...
Hmm, ok
I think so
