When was the last time (if ever) that you tried to sing Karaoke?

There used to be days in my early 20s when I was a bar regular. They had karaoke days on mondays as a marketing scheme to attract people on their slowest day and I was there pretty much every Monday for months. I karaoked with friends and we'd sing rock and metal songs together. There's a reason booze and karaoke go so well together. Even if you think you're a shit singer (which I know I am), booze is that magical liquid courage that gets you to loosen up. They were fun times while they lasted, but friends went their separate ways after those months and people moved on with their lives. I tried going on my own a couples times and it just wasn't even close to the same vibe. I do kinda miss those days 😅

@HawkPerception Aww. Yeah, my recent one was the first time in a while that the friends had convened to do anything... literally because one of the daughters from our mom group is getting married. So all the moms pitched in to throw the shower and bring the girls together -- they all went to grade school together and stayed v close till a couple of years ago when some went to grad school, some married, etc. It was SO nice to see them all together... (The moms all volunteered for stuff at school, so we were also all very close and we demolished what once was a bottle of tequila, lol. SSSSHHHHH!)

I go with some singer friends I have every other week. Sometimes more. Probably going out again next Tuesday.

I missed a couple weeks because of work.

There are thousands of karaoke videos on YT and I sing with them regularly. If you are asking about singing solo in public, my last time was April 27; I sang "You Raise Me Up," with a strong quartet and piano accompaniment.

I love to sing, but I'm too shy to do it in front of anyone. I don't mind public speaking, but I don't think I'm good enough for that.

We have a spot that we can choose to either sing in the main bar area or if we're a small group of 5+ we can have one of the side rooms to sing, order food and drinks... That's very nice and more private. I went as part of a bridal shower. It was hilarious. (I can't UN-hear the moment one girl's "Like a Virgin" went sideways, but otherwise it was a great time.)
