Imagine if spiders were half our size. We wouldn't stand a chance with all of the different types of webs they build. Cool and kind of scary lol

It reminds me of this aquarium my family visited when we crossed the US as a kid. They had these tanks with tiny worms/snakes/eels. Not sure. I was too young. But they would dig their holes patiently plucking one grain of sand at a time. Unfortunately for them it was literally one grain of sand between the closest neighbors. They would spit it out and it would fly into the neighbors pad. Then back it flew. They were fascinating. It didn't end. Makes me think. Congested cabin fever or do they display this behavior in the wild too?

Spider silk is amazing. I remember watching a documentary about how strong it actually is. They were talking about using spider silk and other material mixed together to create new types of bullet proof vests lol

You are missing the laws of scale. If the linear dimension is doubled, the weight increases 8x. A spider half our size would weigh maybe 25 pounds, and be completely unable to spin a web able to support themselves.

Spiderwebs are already pretty damn sturdy, it just doesn't seem like that because they're small. I think they would be crazy strong if they were bigger

You think the tensile strength would increase. Well, I guess the opening for the webs would increase in size so the webs would come out thicker. That would make them stronger, I think. But I'm not sure. It could cause brittlness.
