A motif is the part of a song that gets played differently through the movie/ series. Usually as part of a characters theme song.

Top Gun has one, Fast and Furious 5 has one that sometimes comes back in other movies.

In Skyfall, they used the motif from the Adele opening song through the movie.

In One Piece, Zoro has one.

There's also some great ones in Patriot, the show on Amazon.

One of my all-time favorite motifs has to be from "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Howard Shore masterfully weaves the Shire theme throughout the series. Every time you hear that simple, serene melody on the tin whistle, it evokes a sense of home, peace, and the innocence of the Hobbits. 🌿
