There are all sorts of good TV show themes.

Some themes, though, are so iconic that just hearing them even when the show isn't on is enough to trigger memories in a large fraction of people because they know that show.

A good example is the theme from "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson". Carson hosted the show for almost 30 years (from OCT 1962 to 22 MAY 1992) and he was the "King of Late Night" because this was all before the Internet and only a few networks.

However, during CBS in the 1960s, two themes were ones in which everyone knew the lyrics: The Beverly Hillbillies and Green Acres (Green Acres is actually a connected spin-off of The Beverly Hillbillies - the basic idea of the show is the opposite of The Beverly Hillbillies). Everyone of a certain age (like me) knows the lyrics of these songs and can sing them completely without any prompting.
