In this scene, Buffy sings Give me something to sing about which to me displays what it's like to be deeply depressed.

Joker (2019) is a pretty raw depiction of what it can feel like to go through depression. There’s this overwhelming sense of isolation and hopelessness that the main character, Arthur Fleck, experiences throughout the movie. He’s just trying to find his place in a world that constantly pushes him down, and that spiral into darkness is something that hits hard. The scene where he’s in front of the mirror, forcing himself to smile even though everything inside him is broken, captures that feeling of wearing a mask for the world while you’re crumbling underneath. It’s that constant struggle to keep going when you’re just asking, “What’s the point?” The film doesn’t sugarcoat it, it shows how depression can distort reality, make you feel invisible, and push you further away from help or connection.
That's a really good one!
Bojack 100%.
There’s a movie called Room does a pretty good job of portraying depression, anxiety and dark thoughts
Rue in euphoria and Bella when Edward left her lol
Yep definitely Bella from New Moon. That's how I was at first when my ex broke up with me.
Same when I left the first time the panic nightmares suck
Yep... I found I couldn't sleep well... still can't sleep really
It took me 6 months to get used to not being with someone all the time and sleeping alone
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a great choice, especially with its nuanced portrayal of depression. Another poignant depiction is "BoJack Horseman," an animated series that skillfully balances humor and the dark realities of mental illness. "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" also captures the depths of depression through its exploration of love and memory. Both present depression authentically, reflecting its complexity and emotional weight. 🎭

don't know, maybe moonstruck... being trapped in a body that is doomed might be depressing. the issue being..."hope".
maybe I'd go looking for something more positive...
Difficulties and change can be depressing for sure sometimes. One thing I learned, the change leads to new stability... it can be for the best.

Squidward needs a therapist in The worst way and he keeps on trying and failing to manage his life as a rugged individualist. He lies to himself and says that life is good but he knows that he just wants to break out of his self-imposed prison.
