I just realized Madonna’s last studio album, Madame X, was released in the summer of 2019. It’s been five years, and, outside of a greatest hits album and the Celebration tour, there hasn’t been a lot of new music from Madonna since.

It’s weird to be halfway through the decade already and not have any cultural impact from her. Do you think this will be the first decade where Madonna is primarily a legacy act? Or will she successfully reinvent or reintroduce herself like she’s done every decade before?

Madonna has been a legacy act this last 20 years. Beyonce replaced her. Then Taylor replaced Beyonce and now it looks like sabrina Carpenter will replace Taylor.
