Trending & News No way. Madonna basically wrote the playbook on pop stardom and cultural impact. She pushed the boundaries of sexuality and expression way before it was cool to do so, having every uptight boomer’s parent clutching their pearls. She’s reinvented herself a dozen times, each era a new cultural bombshell. Taylor’s definitely a force in her own little way, but Madonna laid the bricks in a completely different heat of women.
It probably depends on what gen you're talking to. Most millennials to boomers will say no. But Gen Z will definitely for sure say yes. Me being a millennial will say f no. Taylor has certainly not made that kind of impact yet.
I don't know I wasn't around when Madonna was big but personally I don't feel any impact at all from Taylor Swift lol. She's very easy to ignore which is nice. As a kid I often had to listen to the radio because i was in my parents car or at home the radio was on or at my first jobs the radio was playing but now I can completely ignore whatever is popular and just listen to whatever I want. It's a good feeling.
Hard to compare BUT Taylor triumphed in a VERY fractured music scene whereas Madonna did it when mass audience actually meant something

no. Taylor is just a continuation of what Madonna started. Britney Spears took over that mantle, followed by Miley Cyrus
Pfft
Taylor?
