That may be true but I personally haven't heard a "new" Madonna song since like 2003 or so.
@Miristheiss Well, at least we have Marilyn Manson who is still rather active...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7l3tIsRM7shttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FniF0kSvWGg
(Madonna Wayne Gacy used to be the keyboardist for Marilyn Manson...)

Really? Madonna had a very narrow vocal range/vocal talent but was a top level entertainer with stage presence. Houston had top level vocals but didn't go much for the stage show stuff. Madonna had to learn new vocals just to do a musical (Evita). Houston would have done it better in her sleep. But this is different from who's more famous. Have to look at record sales for that in my opinion.
@hahahmm but Whitney also released far less than Madonna so its not really fair
Madonna 17 albumsWhitney 9
Not sure fame is fair. For example you could be a saint and help 500 poor kids get an education but if your name is never in the press you won't be famous. When I was a kid, they both were probably equally famous but Whitney's voice was respected. Madonna's never was. They were really famous for different reasons/flavors of whatever.
I agree with @hahahmm.
Both of them were a bit before your time, but back in the 80's Madonna was a very famous singer, and for Whitney it was during the 90's when she was famous. Madonna is still very much alive, but Whitney croaked it back in 2012.
Or I should say "was", because she's now kaput.
No, not because she's "white", but because her career spans the decades (Houston was famous only during the 90's, and now she's dead).
@Yaaten she was huge in 80s
How does that have to do with popularity
Because that’s what got her famous
Toss a coin. :)
I wonder if she's still a virgin. Probably not.
@yaaten I think she has a kid.
But there are plenty of girls who are "like a virgin" these days. It's like when you're on eBay and see something listed that's "Like New."
Lol because she’s the only one I know and her songs are still a hit.
She is the most awarded female artist of all time. Her voice is unmistakable also.
Madonna was way bigger in the UK tough
I would agree somewhat. I was born in England and lived there until I was 23. My preference is still Whitney.
You mean "no opinion", because your "no comment" comment is still a comment.
You know, the mother of Jesus.
@Yaaten Are you sure?https://youtu.be/uLRiGX3L-kw
Lucky Star, Material Girl, Borderline!
Lucky star was only a hit in the US
'Lucky Star' was a hit in Australia too. Madonna is the more famous of the two, if only because she's been around far longer than Whitney.
