So I loved The Wizard of Oz with Judy Garland, The Wiz with Diana Ross and Michael Jackson, and even that creepy Wizard of Oz sequel with Fairuza Balk. I thought I’d like Wicked but boy was I mistaken.

I had never seen the Broadway and couldn’t wait for the theatrical release. For starters, everyone did their best with the acting. And they actually made the witch look really pretty. But fck Ariana played the fck out of Glinda the Good Witch… I’m sorry I meant Guh-Linda the Annoying Bully Ass Bish… Omg everyone at that school was so awful I just wanted Dorothy’s house to land on the entire town 😭

And the songs were so fckin annoying. Shit wasn’t even memorable (except I actually did like one the Prince sang in the library.) The movie was just way more singing than I expected. I felt overwhelmed like I’d barf at any moment.

I felt bad dragging my grandpa along because he hates musicals. We both wanted our money back 🤣 My grandma claimed she loved it despite having slept through the entire second hour. My mom is the only one who truly loved it and she wouldn't stop singing that annoying as Popular song. Other people in the theaters kept clapping after every song was sang. Annoying af!

When the film let out, people were crying in the hall last night claiming this movie was the most beautiful shit they ever seen. Like mf where at 😭🤣💀 The most entertaining part was when we entered the theater and I made another family get up out of our 5 seats. Like nah we unfortunately paid for these tickets so I’m going to need for y'all to sit elsewhere since y'all clearly snuck in…

I haven’t see the new Mean Girls but Wicked definitely felt too much like the original Mean Girls rather than anything like Wizard of Oz. It was also annoying how the movie was political af. Seeing this film once was enough… But i again, I commend everyone’s acting as well as the witches hairstyles which looked way better than Ariel’s in the Little Mermaid live action.

I’d rate it a 7/10. Good acting and makeup job. Forgettable songs and way too much singing and political crap. Worth watching at least once but not worth paying for in the theaters. Also anyone know that Target commercial where the witch says “thats my line” and sings. Lol thats the only part i cared to see and they didn’t show it until the last 60 seconds of this 3 hour film 😭😩

Well I have seen the play a couple of times, under duress, but fortunately can't remember much of it other than green skin and a bit where they fly.

The trailer of the movie has almost won me because of the clockwork train. Anything with exposed cogs is good. I can see the Mean Girls side and I enjoyed that but not seen the remake. Lindsay Lohan was great.

I'll probably cave in for FF and go.

I felt 10000% the same as you. I don't care for musicals, but they wouldn't shut the fuck up with the singing for more than 5 minutes. I'd start to think a scene was getting good, then someone would have to start singing and I'd roll my eyes. I went in there thinking that the wicked witch looked hot in an odd way (never been attracted to green skin besides Gamora) and left thinking that Ariana stole the show. She wasn't attractive to me at all, but she played such a good asshole bitch that I loved it. She made me laugh a bunch of times. Jeff Goldblum played himself and everyone else was pretty stereotypical. I think it would have been a decent 45-minute movie if they cut out 95% of the singing

I don’t think the movie was for you if you’re not a musical fan. The new Mean Girls is also a musical and you’d probably be happier avoiding it if musical camp isn’t something you enjoy. Maybe you’d like the book it was based on more than the actual musical.

It is a musical. Always was. Also, it seems political, but the story was written 30 years ago, and the original musical is at least 15 years old, if not more. The movie is a faithful adaptation of said musical play. I'm not really a fan of musicals so I'll stay away from this, but from everything I've read so far, it seems it was made for the fans and the fans love the crap out of it
