Music videos are something old people used to watch.

Honestly, I've seen music videos at the gym, when I'm on the stationary bike, and they don't make a lot of sense to me. Like, why do I need moving pictures to go along with the song I'm listening to? Who thought that was a good idea?

So I think watching music videos is something people used to do, way back in the olden times, and eventually everyone realized it was kinda pointless.

Many people say the pictures are better when you read a book vs watching a movie. Since you create the images in your mind.

Music is meant for the ears, not the eyes. Music conveys emotions and you draw from your own experiences when listening to the music. A video is just bringing someone elses images to the music and robbing you of your own. Music was meant to heard, not seen.

With the growth of the internet and streaming services there wasn't really a demand for it anymore as people could just play music that they actually liked.

@Quigly nope. MTV was still airing music 24/7 in 99, it gradually played less and less until the mid 2000s where they started drifting towards reality TV as music videos wasn't really doing anything financially

Nope, MTV Changed when Grunge hit the scene. Beavis and Butthead, Which started in 1993, Ren and Stimpy started in 1991 were on constantly along with spring break shows and The real world which premiered in 1992. They were rarely showing music during the 90's.
