Why is the industry and even modeling agencies so difficult for very tall women?

So over the weekend my friends encouraged me to try out for modeling and I have the slim body and height for it. I thought about it and I decided to try out. So I went for my audition and as I was about to, they asked me how tall I am. When I told them I was 6’4 they were like, “NEXT!”
Seriously?

They said they need tall models and they have the nerve to say I’m too tall!! They said they only accept models 5’8-5’11” so under 6ft and I’m too big and wide. WHAT?

I’ve been told I can model with my tallness and slim figure but of course plus size models are in too.
I don’t know what else to do. Also I got told I’m too tall for most of the females roles in a play. They rejected me. So fuck it.

You ladies 5’8-5’11, if you think you have it bad, try being a woman 6ft and over!! 😡😡

If you want to be serious about modeling you’re not only going to need an agent but you also need to know that auditions for anything outside of Hooters and adjacent restaurants are going to be BRUTAL. They will find everything that’s “wrong” with you and tell you to your face and deny you a job based on that alone. It’s going to suck super hard and you’re likely to be the most insecure you’ve ever been in your entire life.

Yeah…. so what? I’ve seen women over 6ft on runways but most of them are 5’8-5’11”. I kill to be those heights than being 6’4.

Ever heard of WTM? Worlds tallest models? It was created by 6'9 Ekaterina Lisina. All the female models are 6'4 and up.
