Is being a tall woman more difficult in the acting industry?

Okay so I’m a young woman and I’m 6’0” and not only that, I’m plus size and black.
So I did plays and I’ve only gotten parts like being a tree, course and male part’s because they didn’t have any other tall boys so they put me in it. I wanted a female at at least. My friend (5’1, petite -‘d slender) who’s been in theatre and community theatre, I asked her about my chances being in the acting industry. She said I’m going to have it a lot tougher getting roles because of my height and me being black, but there are tall women in the industry. Look at Queen Latifah!
So should I still go for it? Most actresses are petite and short. So are males. What gives?

Yes very limited. The typical height is around 5'2 to 5'4. An example of an exception is Allison Janney, but you have to have a talent like hers to make it, and even then it's not easy. Men she's opposite often have to stand on boxes in their shots, a huge complication for crews and setups.

Leelee Sobieski is about 2" taller than you, I think. She's been in several movies. I know of another girl about 5' 9" that'd make a GREAT actress!! She REALLY puts on a show!!

I don't know why but, I have this feeling she's, somehow, associated with Ed Asner.

the issue is you don't fit on camera as well as smaller people and the camera adds pounds. if that fits the part, then ok. maybe you can do voice overs?

I guess I can try that but I really want to be in the acting industry. I’ve been rejected so roles like 20 times because of my height.
Cameron Diaz got acting roles and she’s tall. So is queen Latifah, same thing with her. They should get a bigger camera. I swear smaller people are luckier than tall people.
My 5’1 not only she’s an amazing actress but she gets so many gigs. Some directors said she gets more roles because she’s short and you just don’t have it, plus it’s your bone structure that makes it harder.
Wow….. people and society is very brutal to tall women. I don’t want to model or lay basketball.
