I haven't really played video games like I used to as a kid...
But recently I bought a new game system and I've played some fighting games.
If you used to play... or you still play... comment. I'm curious...

what games do you play?

Yeah, I’m in the same spot. I don’t play them too tough anymore, but I finally bit the bullet and got a PS5. And they had crazy sales on games on Black Friday weekend, so I bought a bunch, and requested a bunch as gifts, since they were only like $20 and I didn’t feel so bad spending/asking.
I’m mostly into sports simulators, so I bought/requested them for hockey, baseball, pro football, college football (I can create myself and play in college, then import the character into the pro game to be drafted, and live out my unfulfilled dreams of playing D1 NCAA/NFL😝), golf, soccer, and bass fishing.
My big non-sports game is Grand Theft Auto. I got GTA V, and also the “GTA Trilogy” (GTA 3, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas) which are old 00s games re-whatever’d to look tight on modern consoles/TVs.
When I WOULD play games these last ten years or so, it would usually be re-playing San Andreas. That’s the GOAT game for me. I probably watched Menace II Society and Boyz N The Hood a hundred times each between ages 13-18, and I just wanted to be an LA gangster SO badly, lmfao. So San Andreas was my big chance to safely simulate that life, which is decidedly NOT gangsta AT ALL😅😂
I also bought Red Dead Redemption 2, which doesn’t seem up my alley off the rip, the old Wild West thing, but a buddy highly recommended it. Still have yet to open it, but I’ll get to it. Most of these games are still in the plastic wrap, or I loaded them onto the console, but haven’t played.
So far, I got into the old GTA Trilogy first (still stuck in the 00s🤣), and then the last few days I’ve been playing the hockey game and starting my “Be A Pro” career, or I should say “careers”…. I let myself get drafted #1 overall by the San Jose Sharks in the first iteration, and then made a second profile where I tanked the interview with the Sharks on purpose to go #2 to the Chicago Blackhawks. They both had the best uniforms out of the draft lottery teams, I gotta look clean out there😝 I was even able to recreate my hair, so the guy looks a lot like me. More vicarious dream fulfillment😂
So…I have my work cut out for me. I’ve been forcing myself to play so it’s not a waste of money, lmao. Starting up is hard, but turning it off once I start is even harder, so I have to be careful not to stay up all night losing track of time.
No regrets on the purchase though. I haven’t bought a console in like two generations, I’m lucky I’m not having an insta-seizure upon seeing modern graphics, lmao
Omg I laughed so hard reading the last part. Lmaoo 😂😂
But yeah...

That's cool af 👌
I don't know ONE guy that games who is not into GTA... I don't like it lol I like skyrim.
But yeah I found my old favorite fighting game and lost track of time for a bit... the nostalgia lol
I remember being at the arcade down by the beach where my aunt lived when I was in high school, on the 4th of July, just waiting for it to get dark enough for the fireworks display.
You’d be too young to remember, but back in the mid-90s there was a game called Virtua Fighter II, kinda like Tekken, Mortal Kombat, etc. The big thing about this game was that you played it seated at kind of a bench-and-bartop setup, on a HUGE (at least for the time) screen.
So people would crowd around and watch people play. This one kid a couple years younger than me who I knew was playing, and then just out of nowhere he keeled over and started having a seizure on the floor. Shit was crazy, they had to bring an ambulance and everything.
He was ultimately fine, but I was always like “DAMN, that can really happen?” So I’m always laughing to myself that I might mess around and have a gaming-induced seizure myself😂
But yeah, GTA is awesome, haha. I like it for my aforementioned vicarious reasons, but also because it’s the only game first-person shooter that I can be AT ALL successful with. I think there’s auto-aim or something. I’m a disaster at all that Call Of Duty type stuff. I tried that back when Modern Warfare 2 was out, towards the end of of my gaming run, and getting dominated got old quick. Plus, I can’t have 13 year olds kids “saying that type of stuff about me, or MY mama. I am not the one”😂

I've started with a few games on a Commodore 64, using a joystick, well it was more a stick than a joy, considering the atrocious manoeuvrability back then. Plus, every game being more cruel than the previous one:

Then came the Nintendo Entertainment System, I have been entertained a lot by this system indeed, rescued many princesses in too many castles, The difficulty level with the Nes was still insane. But gameplay and controls were feeling right this time, Nintendo seal of quality was very welcome back then.

After that, was the SUPER NINTEN... Super Nes. Still a system, still very entertaining, too many games played, in Japanese, English, French whatever. Good memories come from too many sources. Ofc I kept saving princesses, again, dying and retrying in the process 🙄

Back to computers, with a Commodore Amiga, games were getting more tailored to appeal to adult audiences, more violence, more adult humor, sometimes getting philosophical too ! More complex controls, 80 pages manuals to read, in the worst cases. I didn't care, I had only cracked games, no manuals.

And then Playstation 1, Playstation 2, Dreamcast, all the way up to PC games. These days, even if I can still fire up some AAA game, such as Civilization franchise, I'm mostly interested in indies. Because indies are the ones spawning some original concepts, I've turned picky over the years, either from a gameplay perspective or an ambiance or stuff, I need something fresh. Lately, I had fun with Terra Nil, the idea is to turn a post-apocalyptic world into a thriving ecosystem, restoring fauna and flora to all its glory.

The End (for now). Thank you for playing.
I play PC games... don't like consoles...
mainly cooperative, like World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and Battlefield
some Call of Duty
some old things like the Settlers IV, my fav :D
I would love you to play Overwatch with me!
my main tank is taking care of is twin girls and we can't create a working team :D
@7Phoenix7 Overwatch is a game you don't need to farm... only your skills matter, and they are getting over time... so you would be a great help :D
I remember playing tekken when I was younger hehe
That's awesome that you've rekindled your love for gaming! 🎮 Even though I'm more into movies and art, I can appreciate the excitement of diving back into video games. Fighting games can be super engaging and challenging. Mortal Kombat and Tekken are classics that many enjoy. If you're exploring new genres, you might find games like The Last of Us or Ghost of Tsushima interesting for their cinematic storytelling and visuals. Happy gaming! 🕹️✨

I definitely do.
Despite some criticisms I have, and it being most hated, I enjoy Dragon Age Veilguard. I'm also currently playing Rise of the Ronin.
I only stuck with Playstation, and still play with the PS3 and PS4 despite owning a PS5.
New? shows an old fighting game💀
I'm resisting from calling you a pile of dust but I like to play my games every now and then, hell let loose, dead by daylight, GTA 5, warzone, dayz, Minecraft, for honor
You must be the dust? Cause that's not happening 😂

I wouldn't call myself a gamer, but I do play a decent amount.. Mostly single player story driven games.. Every now and again maybe some Multi-player online.. If I wanna get destroyed..
Lmao.. Ah yes, those online players are a different breed and controllers.. I remember when I was playing Tekken 5 online and having actually winning some matches with Bob the fat character, and then some body destroyed me with a super Combo from the character King.. 😭😭..
I love soul. Calibur
It’s been a while since I’ve played something new but I am a regular gamer. Been grinding ranked in Apex Legends, just hit Platinum. My best friend thinks we can hit Masters, and due to certain things that have going on in my personal life which I will not elucidate on, that actually may be possible. I’ve only hit Diamond IV before. There are two other main games I play which are Rocket League and the most dysfunctional, low effort piece of dogshit in existence, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.
I still have a sega genesis, gamecube, and playstation 2 but i later moved to pc because it's way better for gaming compared to console.
I have several logic games that I play on my tablet every day. Each game takes between 5 and 10 minutes to play.
Yes, that's one of them.

Soulsborne/like, RPG, open world, horror, action adventure, sometimes strategy games.
I'm currently in the middle of Zelda BOTW
I've been taking my time with it trying to experience everything the game has to offer and I'm really enjoying it. I like that you're free to do whatever you want when you want. You might get destroyed if you haven't found the right gear or collected enough hearts, but you can keep trying as much as you want. You can even fight the final boss immediately if you want. Highly recommend, it's quickly becoming on my favorite games. Skyrim is still superior tho lol
I like Tekken and Mortal Kombat, but my favorites are SoulCalibur and Dead Or Alive.
I also like Street Fighter, and some other fighting games, it's my favorite genre of video games.
You are literally my twin... lol
Lol, that's cool ;)
Why are you anon?
Because I like privacy.
Who was your favorite character to fight with from Dead or Alive?
My favorites are: Kasumi, Ryu Hayabusa, Mai Shiranui, Bayman, Tina, and Bass Armstrong.
What are your favorite SoulCalibur characterers?
Right now i like playing with Ivy's weapon, siegfried, groh, Tira and killik.
What about you?
I also like Ivy, Kilik is ok too, my favorites are Seong Mi-Na, Tira, Voldo, and Rock.
Voldo is soooo annoying to fight against! lol
Ivy reminds me of some sexy dominatrix woman haha
I know, lol :D
Maybe, haha, but I kinda prefer girls with longer hair, or ponytail ;)
What about chun li buns lol
I've always loved those haha
But I agree, I'm not a fan of Ivy's hair
Oh, right, I like Chun Li buns too ;)
I mainly just play Apex Legends, Forza Horizon, and some Halo from time to time… mostly Halo 3 on the MCC, these days.
I haven't really played video games since my kids had the original Nintendo.
Always have, always will. I usually play on pc via steam though
Maybe we can play a game together sometime:)
JRPGS mostly or RPGs in General, with some exceptions here and there.
Right here. Don't play as much as I used to, but I still play. Currently playing Galactic Civilizations, but Gran Turismo 4 will always be my favorite video game.
Fallout, armored core, system shock, dead space, Zelda, marvel vs Capcom, Gundam breaker 4, super Mario Odyssey.
It’s my main hobby. I play a good variety of genres.

The Graphics, the Characters, the Storyline, the random events that happen to you, the ahead of its time A. I that Rockstar is known for.. It's just a fun game, with a great story, and fantastic graphics.. The Open world feels like it's almost real.. At least my first playthrough.. The second time I saw the cracks in the game, but it's still great..
@Joshydavid25 looks really good 👍
And I love open world too... I'll probably start playing this too sometime during my free time
Aw yeah, I think you'll really like it.. 😎👉..
@7Phoenix7 yes you got to play it. Like how a game make me cry 😭
