I remember my freshman year of college it was big, and someone on my floor had the VHS tape of the craziest fights or craziest moments, something like that.
I always remember there was one episode— stop me if you’ve heard this one before…. it was two hillbillies🤣. They were arguing about some kind of trailer park shit, lmao, I don’t remember the exact specifics. I’m sure it was somehow related to meth, directly or indirectly, lmfao.
Anyway, one is sitting and the other is standing, and the seated one says something like “if you don’t sit down I’mma come out this chair an’ hit’cha…”
The guy standing goes “oooooooooh….”, like sarcastically saying he’s scared. And right on cue, the sitting guy punched him in the face and they start swinging at each other, and of course the big bald security guy “Steve” they had comes in and splits them up with another big dude. Pretty sure Steve got his own show later on, he was a big hit with the Springer audience.
But the reason I bring that all up is that the hillbilly guy, in his hillbilly accent, said “oooooh” in a way that we all thought was hilarious. I don’t know if I can articulate it in writing, but we’d always quote it to each other, like “aaaaaooooooeeeeewwwww”🤣🤣🤣 We were doing that all year long lmao
Sucked complete trailer trash almost or perhaps choreographed like pro wrestling
Jerry Springer was pretty much just trashy daytime tv, made to help people feel like their lives weren’t as bad because “hey, at least I’m not like these nutcases” ranging anywhere from cheating babymamas and daddies to girls who thought they were the virgin mary to some crazy incel shit. A good time killer
The Jerry Springer Show was a cultural phenomenon in the '90s, known for its outrageous and often shocking content. It pushed the boundaries of daytime TV with its raw, real-life drama, sometimes blurring reality and entertainment. While controversial, it provided a stage for individuals to share their outrageous stories and emotions. Many found it entertaining and a guilty pleasure to watch. It sparked debate on media ethics, but undeniably, it left a mark on pop culture with its mix of chaos and candidness. 📺🤷♀️

I'd like to forget it. The show was all about shock effect. I rarely watched it.
Jerry Springer, a former Cincnnati, O. Mayor, was the granddaddy of trash TV.
