What is your opinion of scam ads on YouTube?

I never watched this Y*****e program and I have no idea what kind of content it offers and I presume that it is the ideal platform to spam and scam a place where hundreds of people gather online every day.

No wonder that all those pornographic content platforms are the targets of those scammers since those that visit them are easy targets for scammers.

I have no idea what kind of scams are going on but I presume it is to steal money from those that are silly enough to surf on such platforms like Y*****e and the like. I have no pity for those that are scammed.

"YouTube is an American social media and online video sharing platform owned by Google"(Wikipedia, accessed 2/17). I am not sure why you think it is pornographic content platform. I primarily use it for listening to music, but there are videos on many different kinds of stuff.

... and there is indeed pornographic content available if you know where to look. That is the very reason why I don't venture on that site. I don't want to be faced with content that would make me sick in the stomach.

A moment ago, you said you have "no idea what kind of content it offers", now you are saying "there is indeed pornographic content". If someone wants to watch porn, they are better off going to another site. Did you know you can watch university lectures on there?

The internet is a source of information about everything and nothing and I get data from reliable source. Anyway, my browser security settings and my child protection software prevents me to open that Y*****e site.

The reason for asking this question is because years ago I remember Googles motto being something along the lines of: Do not do evil. But, if they are allowing scam ads, they are not following that motto. One of the worst ads I saw was one that was promoting some product using old footage from an interview of a genius who did some sort of nuclear fusion at home, and they were trying to use the footage in such a way to imply he was working on the product they were trying to sell.

I haven’t really seen many YouTube ads, just a few while the adblocker needs an update for a day or so, but I haven’t noticed any scams so far. Just the usual crap I 99% have no need for. 🤷‍♂️

I guess a negative consequence of ad blockers is there are less people reporting scam ads since they don't see them.
