Are women comedians better at sexual jokes or men?

I think women comedians come off trying really hard to sound funny with their sexual jokes. It seems put on/ forced, as if they do sexual jokes only to compete with men comedians and get a bigger star status or something. Because it is impossible to get famous without making sexual jokes right? 🥴

So there is this very interesting notion of what a comedian is allowed to joke about and how freely.

I'm a caucasian, typical white, guy. I can joke about black people on stage but only if it is flattering or if I put down white people first, harder than I do black.

When it comes to sex, I can make any jokes I want at men's expense but will need to be careful with how I joke about women. Again, can absolutely do it, but with silk gloves on.

As a woman in comedy, sex is one of the areas where you have no (normative) limitations on yourself. Because of this you can pretty much expect comedian women to make sex jokes. Just like you can expect any minority to make jokes about the minority they belong to.

Better? Honestly, yes. While the skill level might be similar the freedom to say what you want paired with it being seen as evocative instead of provocative helps a lot. However I do chalk it up to sex simply being women's area more than it is men's.

I do not think they do. However it has everything to do with freedom. Men need to finesse it to make it acceptable, women can generally be blunt and go for shock value. Entirely based on allowed topics.

No. That is the thing. Men comedians deliver sexual jokes crudely and that is the unfiltered finesse. Women being crude with sexual jokes causes the shock value but that itself feels fake. A little kid using the F word has shock value and is very funny. But a woman being crude about sexual jokes does not hit the same, it looks forced, not natural. Anyway, different perspectives.

I think the reason guys don't tend to like sexual jokes from women is because they generally can't relate to the experience from that side of things so it either goes over their head or it just isn't as funny to them.

It's not a gender thing as to who is funnier, you just have good/bad comics in general.

I understand all their jokes. It is just how they present them or act them out, is what I don't find so funny. That is what I meant. It is like how guys can easily act out shitting or other such embarrassing action, women cannot do that so well. So it might be a gender thing after all.

Yes I think they are fantastic with the sexual jokes. Love Jen Kirkman, Sarah Silverman, Amy Schumer, Katherine Ryan, Christina P, Nikki Glaser, Michelle Wolf, Hanna Berner, Iliza Shlesinger are a few of the best I enjoy watching.

Yes I do and some are very good others are so filthy I don't like their shows. There are a couple women like that as well which I don't particularly care for.
