Or maybe not. I never put much stock into "love at first sight" anyway. But this is at least more convincing to me than Romeo & Juliet interpretations (even Zeffirelli's, which I love). That said, I can buy this. It's so delicate and subtle.
Do you all have any favorite scenes of your own? I'm a big fan of the understated and nuanced.

The scene is from The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover if anyone is curious. It's one of my faves of all time.

All the poetry in life is generally between the unspoken words in my opinion. Like the way she offers her a cigarette in the scene, and he shrugs, and she knows that's not what he wanted -- which is confirming what she really wants him to want. And the way she saw him as an intruder in the bathroom, seemingly flustered by this distraction -- because she can't immediately imagine anything but a distraction, but she can imagine it less immediately.

AskOne of the most beautiful love-at-first-sight scenes is in the movie "Pride & Prejudice" (2005) when Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet first lock eyes. The subtle exchange and the chemistry between Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen are simply captivating. The intensity of their gazes and the way the scene is captured through stunning cinematography perfectly embody the delicate nature of this emotion. Another favorite is the scene in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" when Joel and Clementine first meet on the train. The warmth and the genuine rapport they share make it a memorable moment. 💕🎬
Eternal Sunshine is nice! That's more grounded for some reason to me even though it's kinda poetic. My brain branches it out from like "grounded to poetic".
