What is Your Favorite Bob Dylan Song?

I like all music especially the 60's so I know about Bob Dylan and he's recently had a film out about his life. If you've not heard his music I suggest you listen to my list and you might become a fan too.

This is my favourite list, and I think the most popular of the songs he wrote. Which is your favourite?

Knockin' on Heaven's Door is one of my favorite songs by anyone.

Dylan was more of a song writer than a performer. Covers tend to be much better than his versions.

I saw him in the late 70s. It was one of the worst concerts I ever went to. He had a large electric band which just doesn't work well with his music.

When I was at school our teacher was a fan of his and we had a discussion about what his songs meant. My favourite is Blowin in the Wind. Apparently it was an Vietnam War protest song, suggesting the ambiguous answer to ending war, and living in peace and harmony was blowing in the wind. The song us now a symbolic song of fighting for the rights and equality of people in society, and an anti-war song.

I also like The Times They Are A-Changin. His songs seem to have a meaning. The first stanza he asks the people of the world to admit that the waters around them have grown. He means change has arrived. And he says if people don't accept and embrace change, they'll drown in the past.

Yes, he has a whiney voice. But some of his best songs were covered and became classics. Knockin on Heaven's Door by the Gunners, All along the Watchtower by Hendrix, It ain't me Babe by Johnny Cash --- even a shout out to Australian band The Whitlams for Tangled up in Blue.
