No. I just think that they're too saturated with political messaging and overproduced. They're not self-contained stories anymore because they're trying to build franchises or set up sequels. And because of these, they're trying to do way too much and getting poor results.

So I don't think they're overrated. How they're made these days just need to be fixed. Watch The Critical Drinker on YouTube, specifically his videos titled "Why Modern Movies Suck."

Movies are movies, books are books & some people love reading books & some people love watching movies. As for me I love movies especially movies from the 80’s & 90’s or even classic movies or movies before my time. To me growing up we didn’t have Netflix or streaming movies so my family, friends & I either went to the theaters or rented a few movies from blockbuster video. Movies aren’t overrated to me.

Most modern forms of entertainment are overrated, whether it be music, movies, books, or anything else. This is one of the reasons people make a big deal out of something once first released, only to forget about it a month or two later. Quality product stands the test of time. Most modern products are disposable.

Yes most movies are overrated and don’t compare to movies done before despite movie directors having more technology to make the certain scenes look more believable they still fail against older movies.


The most important component of a movie is its writing , if the plot is trash no amount of great actors can save a trash plot.

Yes, I’m from India and there’s a recession going on right now because they don’t have original stories. Everyone going for a remake and people are getting fired. Old movies are relreleasing and making lots of money.

a lot of them are nothing new, they're remakes and really bad ones at that... they're really bad sequels or prequels

and in the worst of cases, they're made by people who don't give a single fuck about the movie but to push a stupid agenda they have in mind

Absolutely. I believe the last time I went to the theater was 2017. It seems like everything now is just part of a franchise. I'm sick to death of superhero movies and movies about magic kids.

Exactly. There is a form of nostalgia that results from only the good music and movies from previous decades being remembered. All the garbage is forgotten and never used again. The further back in time you go, the better culture seems because more and more of the garbage has been filtered out.
