What movie is overhyped in your opinion?

For me, it would be Dirty Dancing. I don’t hate it, but it’s not what everyone made it out to be. It’s just okay to me. 🤷🏽‍♀️

There have been quite a few. But a movie I absolutely hated was The English Patient.
My wife wanted to see it when it came out. I wanted to walk out half way through. When we left at the end I was in a horrible mood. I couldn't stand Ralph Fiennes for years after I saw that film.

I totally get where you're coming from. For me, it's "The Blair Witch Project." While it was groundbreaking in using found footage, I think its reputation as a terrifying classic doesn’t quite match the movie's actual impact. Some love it, but I found it more suspenseful than truly scary. 😅🎥

didn't really think the Fast and the Furious was very good. Certainly not good enough to get all the sequels.

After all the hype, by YOU, I thought "Jaws" sucked. During it's week long "anniversary" was the first time I watched it and I thought, "wow, they were easily amused back in the day.

It was okay but not close to a "great" movie. It's somewhere between Napoleon Dynamite and Pee Wee Herman's Big Adventure. What does that tell you?

@Beckybooboo I heard Napoleon Dynamite was a good movie and I could not believe how bad it was. Pee Wee Herman was not allowed in my house. I knew he was a perv even before the incident at the movies.

I just found out Richard Dreyfuss, from Jaws, was also in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. That was a good movie! I saw it about five years ago. What's really funny, is during the music scene at the end of the movie, the spaceship started playing the "Jaws" music lol I was talking to my dad last night and he had mentioned it, so I looked it up on YouTube. Just a fun fact for you 😊

@Beckybooboo Fun fact. When i went to see Jaws at the cinema, my future wife was behind the candy counter. She remembered when Jaws was there and also remembers a fight that broke out while I was waiting in line.
