If you had the funds/creative help to create a big movie, what would the genre be, and what would it be about?

Sometimes I've wondered how creative other people could be when it comes to creating a film of their dreams. Whether it be a horror movie with a unique plot, or a romcom that doesn't heavily depend on forced proximity, I'm interested to see what y'all can come up with, or have thought about at some point!

I'd love to make a horror movie with a unique, genuinely scary-looking monster. For the past few "big hits" that reveal their creature design, it always feels... lacking. Uninspired, or unoriginal. I want to make a movie that doesn't rely on jump scares (one is enough. We don't need 6 of them) and super graphic images as if those are the only two things that can make the viewer on edge or squirm.

Then I'd produce a film adaptation for The Incal, a graphic novel series made by Alejandro Jodorowsky & Mœbius.

The genre is science-fiction, it will combine elements of mysticism, social commentary, dark humor, absurdity, dystopia, romance and quite a lot of silly technological thingamajigs. I would have an impossibly hard time feeling happy with how everything I need could come together as live action cinema. So I would cast illustrators instead.

Unfortunately, Mœbius chose to die 🙄 So I would have to negotiate with rights-holder. But it's doable.

In an alternate universe I did all of this, I consulted everyone who had an expert eye enough for the matter. I ended up being very happy but also totally exhausted by the sheer size of this project. Ultimately, I have skipped reading or trying to hear of any reviews, either by users or professionals. In order to not ruin my newly found pride as well as my symbolical debt, finally repaid, to Jodo & Mœbius.

5 years after that, I would have the very same idea about another graphic novel. But I would need to turn it into a TV show because it's too long a series to fit in a small batch of movies.
