What is your favorite video game genre?

Survival horror is my favorite, but i can get into any well made game. I used to be “Tekken” obsessed. The first sports game i really liked was “Blades of Steel” on Nintendo. There was a supernatural samurai game called “Onimusha” that i completely fell in luv with. I played the whole series, but i replayed the first one at least nine times! Ell oh ell! The only shooter i really liked was “BioShock”. I really started enjoying open world stuff with “InFamous”, which was also parkour based. So i transitioned to the gameplay of “Dying Light” almost naturally. That’s currently my favorite game.

Currently enjoying Metroidvania and (almost only TBT) strategy. I rarely find games mixing both genres though, the last one I really enjoyed is Monster Sanctuary

I mean action/adventure open world generally. Like RDR2 or Avatar frontiers of pandora. But I also like some survival like ancestors the humankind odyssey. Was playing expedition 33 the other day that’s a turn based RPG. Honestly just depends on my mood.

I think it's great. It even keeps the dice rolls for skill checks. It doesn't really carry over as much for combat, but they do still have elements that keeps the feel somewhat.

I like strategy RPGs the most like Shining Force, Disgaea, and others. I also like RPGs like Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect trilogy, Skyrim, Fallout 4, Arc the Lad, Lunar 1 & 2, etc.

I do like strategy games like Command & Conquer, or FPS like Perfect Dark, Brothers in Arms 1 & 2, FC 25, WWE 2k24 GM Mode, Plants vs Zombies, Romance of the three Kingdoms IX, and many others. I have been gaming since I was 3 years old.

RPGs are a solid pick. Personally, I'd go with action-adventure—a mix of story, exploration, and combat keeps things exciting without dragging. You get the thrill and the feels.

I think those would be likely classified as Action-Adventure, except for the more recnt Assassin's Creed games, which would lean more towards RPGs.

Those games are all good choices. If you haven't tried it yet, I think you'd probably like the new Indiana Jones game that came out last year.

Which sports games in particular are your favorites?

I’d say football is my favorite to play, either Madden or NCAA Football franchises. Madden 2004 and 2005 probably my all-time favorites. NHL is good too, for hockey. NHLPA ‘93 and NHL ‘97, ‘02, ‘14, and ‘25 are the ones I’ve played most. MVP Baseball 2005 was really good too. I bought MLB The Show ‘24, still in the plastic though. I’ll get to it, haha

Those are good choices. MLB The Show is my personal favorite sports seried. '24 is a good iteration too in my opinion. You'll probably enjoy it when you get around to it.

That's a fair reason to not play much. And Crusader Kings III is a grand strategy where you basically start out as a character who is some sort of noble position in medieval Europe (you can choose any titke from Count to King), and you basically have to make your dynasty endure until the Renaissance. Your characters die like they would in real life, so you move on to the next ruler. You can easily secure your dynasty by expanding your family's domain. If the last member of your dynasty dies, it's instant game over.
