Are there any songs you refuse to listen to because of an ex?

For me, it's The Scientist by Coldplay. He sung that song to me and now I refuse to listen to it.

I totally get that feeling! Music is so powerful that it can bring back a flood of memories, both good and bad. For me, songs can sometimes feel like a time capsule, capturing emotions and moments. However, there is one that I DO listen to because of her...
It's Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125. ("Choral")
It is famous for it's 4th movement, "Ode to Joy". You've heard it - we all have.

In early October 1990, about 6 or 7 weeks into our relationship, we went to the first Albany Symphony Orchestra concert of the 1990-1991 season at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in Troy NY. That symphony is long (over an hour) and famous as his "choral" symphony involving a choir.
I had never been to a symphony orchestra concert before. Witnessing this live with her, it was then that I knew I wanted to marry her.

So, after she dumped me over the phone on Sunday, 12 JAN 1992, I sat in my room in despair and played my CD of that symphony. It's one of the greatest pieces of music ever written.
Indeed, Kurt Vonnegut wrote (as Leon Trotsky Trout) in his novel "Galapagos" this line whenever a character died:
“Oh well – he wasn’t going to write Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony anyway.”
meaning that his contributions to humanity weren't as monumental as that.

The symphony is often on Symphony Hall (channel 75) on Sirius XM.
So, while I sit in my car parked and listening to it, I often cry as it comes to a crescendo at the end.

There was a girl I dated for about a month that was fine when I dated her and we ended on good terms, but then when I got into a relationship about 6 months later, she started threatening me and my partner with some stuff and spammed both of us using many different numbers (I have no idea how she got my girlfriend at the time's number).

We both used to love a song called Dandelions and that song we played over and over again when we were seeing each other. And it was pretty romantic at the time. We thought it was our song. But then that drama happened and turned me off from the song for a while because it reminded me of her devilish ass.

Now, I couldn't care less. I like the song and have pretty much forgotten about her. Even thinking about it now, I just think "That bitch was crazy" lol

This is kind funny for me. And the reason is out of all the music I love. And there is tons. .

I might know 20 to 30 maybe and its a big maybe I dont know the name of the song.

Same with movies. When I watched TV. Or a movie. I would sit and watch it for hrs. And somebody might come over and say, what are you watching? And I wouldn't know the name of the movie. Lol they might come back in an hr or so and asking again did you find out the name of the movie. Im sure they have said it but i wasn't paying attention. Lol that has happen to me so many times.

With music I've gotten lucky because I'll say part of the lyrics when i'm looking for the song on youtube or something

It's like jokes. Somebody could tell me a joke and it would be the funniest joke ever but I won't remember it

So I guess my answer would would be. Yes I do. .. its that one song. You. Know um comes. You know what it is... lllmao. That's pretty sad to be honest.
