I literally block the Gursleys out whenever i remember “Harry Potter”! Ell oh ell! I forget that they’re even part of the story until i start one of the movies. My dander instantly rises! UGH! All three of them are absolutely horrid. Can you think of another family more unlikable than the Gursleys? They can’t be the ultimate villains though. Just a deplorable group of secondary characters.
Has there ever been a more detestable on-screen family who didn’t ultimately turn out to be the villains of the story?

When I saw that picture you posted of them, I heard Dudley's voice "36? 36 presents? That's two less than last year." 😂
I know one family that's worse than the Dursley's and that was a mother of the main lead character in a bollywood movie called "Ram Leela". The movie was based on Romeo and Juliet. Leela's mother chop off her daughter's finger because her daughter refused to take off the ring her love gave her and didn't want to marry the guy her mum tried to get her married to. I cringed and was like WTF.

They were definitely not likeable characters, but still, not villains in the usual sense.

They were probably based on a family J. R. Rowling knew, if not her actual family.
