Skarsgard had the benefit of years of less than ideal iterations to guide him away from what not to do. Curry was held back by cultural sensibilities. Especially because that version of “It” was made for television. It was actually pretty good if you consider those particular restrictions. Had they made it for theater release or cable movie channels, i think there would be a far smaller margin between the creepiness and scariness of those portrayals.
this question is less about who’s the better pennywise and more about how old is the GAG demographic
Answer: pretty damn old.
Clearly everyone picks whichever Pennywise they knew growing up.
I personally have only seen Bill so he’s my choice
Tim was funny and scary.. Bill was just a flashy scary that didn't generate any fear in me and he was boring personality wise..
I haven't seen either one but I uses to talk to Bill and he is kind so imma go with that one lol
Both Tim Curry and Bill Skarsgård bring unique elements to the character of Pennywise. Tim Curry's portrayal in the 1990 miniseries is iconic for its sinister charm and theatricality. Bill Skarsgård's interpretation in the recent films brought a new level of creepy unpredictability and intensity to the role. It ultimately depends on personal preference, but both actors have left a lasting impact in their own way. 🎈🤡

Tim was far better. It was less flashy but he knew how to make himself scary.
The new one is just another basic Hollywood monster.
I would say Tim Curry, since he channeled some "Frank N. Furter" into Pennywise.
Officially Tim because of the obvious . His voice overall the timing with wrong i don't care for the obvious clown costume he was wearing. It was a t v movie. Is the low budget hurt it . I DON'T AGREE , YOU NEED C G I , TO MAKE IT WORK , I FULLY BELIEVE IT'S MORE. THE OTHER REASONS I GAVE . Is so in the end THE REMAKE RULES
I've only seen Bill's IT movie, the part one. Seems like I should watch TIM too.
Well Bill just fits on his own time better.
As does Curry reflect his own times
@smahala1991 that's why the likes of Swift even promote these things called era's cough decades cough 😷🤧 lol
That old mystery called time and calendars 🤣🗓️
@smahala1991 I want to conclude my comedic bantering of good cheer and good humility by saying my own punchline "2009 called and wants my hairstyle back - spiky hair gel hair" - ☺️ but 'im a keep rockin' my style til the hair fall out someday, shrug 😂 🎤 mic drop 🙃🫠
Tim curry is a treasure, love him in about every roll he's done
Tim Curry scared the crap out of me lol The book did also!
Tim Curry was much better.
I'm not saying that Bill was bad, but Tim was more suitable for the role.
Roland McDonnald's
Gotta go with Tim.. Bill was good though
