Omg, something about the whole enigma of the Doors and that era just captivates me. And even tho Morrison was a "shit show" something about the bad boy, alcoholic, fuck society attitude just curls my toes and makes me swoon. (The leather outfits prolly helped too but it wasn't so much even his hot looks. It was his raw energy. Like Dionysus or something)

Oh, my father has a huge vinyl LP collection and we were raised on country/country rock/blue grass. Johnny Cash, Waylon and Willie, CCR, I love it all and my parents made sure we all learned to play an instrument tho I'm prolly the least musical of the family but I play a mean tamborine 🤣

I'm also the least musical of my family. My dad was a pro bass player and played in bluegrass, country, Caribbean, and blues bands. My brother is pretty good on the drums, lap steel, and is learning the pedal steel. My mom was a great singer. I can play like 2 beats on the drums and maybe carry a tune singing when I'm drunk and don't give a fuck about embarrassing myself

I loved their first album when it came out in 1967. I played it over and over. It was very psychedelic.
In fact, the first guitar lead I ever tried to learn as a beginning guitarist was from the long version of Light My Fire.
At dances in 7th grade, Crystal Ship was a really popular song because it was an opportunity to slow dance.
