I have downloaded a new horror movie filmed in 2024, to my surprise it was filmed in a 4:3 aspect ratio, i was like confused and thought that there's a problem in my movie player, when checked, everything seemed working just fine, i went back online to see when this movie was filmed, because such slasher movies in this aspect ratio were filmed back in the old days, but it was filmed in 2024!
I have used A. I to see why this movie was filmed like that and it turned out that the director had filmed this movie in this aspect ratio on purpose, claiming that he wanted to give this feeling to the watcher that their watching an old movie and to make it feel more horrific... etc
Isn't it weird? I mean if he filmed it using the 16:9 aspect ratio (widescreen), wouldn't it be better 🤔
By the way, the name of the movie is: "In A Violent Nature"

Filming a movie in a 4:3 aspect ratio can be an intentional artistic choice to evoke nostalgia or a particular mood. This ratio provides a more intimate, claustrophobic feeling, which can intensify the emotional or horror elements, perfect for a film like "In A Violent Nature". Directors often use it to pay homage to classic cinema or to make the audience focus more on the vertical elements of the scene. 🎬👀
I think that this is non sense because the majority of T. V's in the world are widescreen!
