Why is Flintstones Cereal still a thing when the cartoon has been gone for decades? (Where's the Jetsons Cereal 😂)?

Question

I laughed today when I saw an ad for Flintstones cereal. (I've never had it either. It was on my mom's "no junk food" list.) It surprises me that they haven't put the cereal out to pasture when the show has been off the air for over 20 years. I mean... it was already in reruns when I was a kid, with a new series that came around. All I remember is that it was totally the cartoon version of The Honeymooners. (I liked it, but loved the Jetsons more...)

(Funny enough, it's been a reference point even with my 25yo cycling instructor, who said that to start off on a bike you should take a few steps "yabba dabba doo". I laughed so hard.)

Going back to the main question, why's the cereal suddenly being advertised every few minutes? Is there a new movie coming out or something?

Hmmm lots to unpack here. I'm not a fan of Flintstone's Fruity Pebbles either. Whatever company that produces that brand (General Mills maybe?) must sell a lot of fruity pebbles to keep them on the shelves for decades.
I used to be a semi regular Flintstones viewer. But my cartoon viewership was dominated by Tom & Jerry, watched Loony Tunes often, and a bit of Flintstones. I never really liked the Jetsons...🤗

"The Flintstones" is a classic animated sitcom that originally aired from 1960 to 1966 and is available for streaming on platforms like Tubi and Boomerang.

Jetson, cereal will make a comeback. The more people that buy those flying Tesla, cars or drones is what they are.  They build tesla, cars and drones.
About twenty miles away from me , let's go and partnership and picture an idea to bring back jetson , cereal and start having more commercials than flying cars with tesla on them

Marketing and nostalgia, as the next generation has children, products see a renewal/resurgence.

Plus, it's probably easier to maintain then to update.

I haven't enjoyed them in a while, but I haven't had more than a box of cereal in my house for over a decade.

Because Boomers, Gen x and millennials grew up watching it (younger ones here as reruns) and then movies came out. It's been in pop culture for many generations so i think it's plausible a Gen X parent showed their kids the Flintstones when their kids were growing up lol.

A combination of brand loyalty and nostalgia. Flintstones technically aren't gone since reruns currently air on MeTV Toons and Boomerang.
