Humanity has seen transformational progress technologically in the last 100 years.

There has been zero progress socially, in government, or economics. We are still fighting wealth inequality and the corruption of power with weak government structures that fail every time. We are still fighting Fascism. We are still fighting racism. We are still fighting sick twisted religions. And all of that is supported by the 1% who use it to keep 99% of the population focused on hating each other and NOT focused on the 1% who keep them in poverty. This model has not changed in 3,000 years.

I enjoy modern conveniences and luxuries so I would love to be able to keep those but have the people from the past who valued intelligence and education and courtesy and honesty. I don't like that 90% of our country is made up of people who really don't contribute to our society, and only put in the bare minimum that's required to get by. I love people who would rather be helpful than snarky and difficult. I would love to go to privately owned restaurants or shops rather than big chains. I would love it if there were around 3 billion people on Earth rather than 8 billion.

In many ways, life was probably better back then although they didn't live as long as we do now, this should honestly be called the Great Depression Era. Even though I know the great depression didn't start until 1929, it feels like that now. Many are unemployed and if they aren't, make low wages where they can barely pay rent and food. Many of us are living paycheck to paycheck. It's just the worst of times right now vs 1926.
