It's time for me to admit that I prefer classical acting. I don't watch movies to see some guy mumbling his lines while looking at his shoes.

I tend to prefer classical acting, overall. I feel it results in a better performance, depending on the actor's skill.

Method acting can result in a good performance, but there are too many instances of method actors going way, waaaay too far; it just carries a more negative stigma as a result.

I lean toward classical acting overall, but I love watching good method work when it’s controlled. Classical training gives actors versatility and emotional safety, especially for long-running shows or franchises. Method can create incredible intensity, yet it sometimes leads to overdoing it or unhealthy behavior on set.

And yes, I can smell what The Rock is cooking… usually a box-office hit and a cheat meal. 😄🎬

I prefer to watch a movie and feel like I'm there and part of what's going on. I don't want to think for even 1 second "this person has experience on Broadway" it ruins everything for me.

But I don't know I've seen a lot of people call a lot of things method acting and then a whole intense dabate breaks out so I don't really define it so tightly.

I just hate seeing overacting, corny acting. Give me muted expressions, eyes that struggle to maintain contact in a way that communicates what's happening in the scene. When your character lies they should have a tell. The best actors to me are kinda psychologists. A lot of them know all that stuff.
